Death of the God of Light Limited Edition Fine Art Print
Baldr (God of Light) was the most beautiful of the Gods. Son to Odin and Frigg.
Baldr became plagued by nightmares of the death of his Mother and Father. Worried, Frigg made every object on this earth swear to never harm Baldr, all save the mistletoe. Loki in secret forged a spear laced with mistletoe which he gave to Baldr's brother, the blind god Höðr. Tricked by Loki Höðr killed his own brother. After Ragnarök Baldr would be freed from the Underworld to bring back the Light to the world and would rebuild what had been destroyed. Leading the surviving Æsir as King of the Gods.
Baldr’s story is one of Rebirth and Cycles.
The Winter before the Summer, Death and life, the Lows and the Highs
This is a reminder that even in times of tragedy when we’re in our darkest moments and the sun feels like it will never rise again, we must remember that with every dusk there must come a dawn.
The God of Light has died but at the end of it all he will return with the power of the Sun!
